Another successful Working Weekend took place on October 6 and 7, this time returning to Llawrcwmbach Mine in mid-Wales and discovering significant timber remains of the 1848 Cornish round buddle deck. This was one of the final stages of ‘dressing’ the lead ore and consisted of washing and combing through the fine stones to remove valueless fragments of rocks from the ore. We also welcome our latest member, Brenda Lees. For information regarding future Working Weekends this year, contact Ioan Lord at rheilffordd@gmail.com.
