This shaft is located just to the west of the modern road around Nant Y Moch Reservoir. J R Foster Smith in his Mines of Cardiganshire names this as Nant Y Cwpl but this is the only reference I have found using this name, I wonder if this was a name created by him. It could have been part of Brynyrafr Mine; hopefully further research will answer the question.
